With New Members Show 2018 closing today, we will be looking at the three new artist members whose style can be summed up in one word: bold!

Thomas Darsney, Velvet, oil on panel, 57 x 45”

It is clear from Thomas Darsney’s works that he paints with purpose. His compositions find harmony through his use of light reflections, geometrical shapes, and gestures. These elements are particularly striking in his studies of historical museums and architecture, which he captures in all their grandeur.

Lori Mehta, A Good Spot, oil on panel, 11 x 14”

Lori Mehta’s style is also strikingly bold. Her color palette transforms otherwise quiet, ordinary moments into scenes of thunderous vibrancy. Paired with a strong contrast between light and shadows, Mehta’s compositions are remarkably lively.

Ann Marie O’Dowd, My Muse, acrylic on canvas, 22 x 28”

Ann Marie O’Dowd creates her paintings with a bright and bold palette. Adding to her striking uses of color, O’Dowd will often play with fun patterns, making her canvases vibrate with energy. Painting dogs, still lifes, or landscapes, O’Dowd’s distinctive paintings amuse with their eye-catching features.
