DESCRIPTION:The Copley Society of Art is thrilled to present the National Show: Intersections an exhibition juried by Almitra Stanely\, the director of Boston Sculpture’s Gallery and founder of Art Maven Consulting. On view from July 9th – August 8th\, this exhibition explores the dynamic spaces where paths cross and ideas converge. Artists were encouraged to reflect on the tensions that emerge when forces such as social\, cultural\, and political – collide and reshape one another. SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Wandering the City\, Artwork by Chris Firger
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us for the opening recepetion of Chris Firger’s Solo Show\, Wandering the City\, a celebration of Boston’s neighborhoods\, communities\, architecture\, and natural beauty. After years of painting New England and Massachusetts\, this exhibition is Firger’s first foray into capturing the city that he called home for nearly a decade. Throughout this body of work\, he portrays Boston as he sees it: vibrant\, captivating\, and full of life. \nFirger is a landscape painter born in Haverhill\, Massachusetts in 1989. He studied at McGill University in Montreal\, Quebec and currently works out of his studio in Salem\, Massachusetts. In Firger’s own words: “… My work invites the viewer to create their own narrative about a given place or moment in time\, layering their own experiences on top of the image I’ve put in front of them. My ultimate goal as an artist is to inspire others to reconnect with\, appreciate\, and protect the natural world and the communities around them.” \nWe hope you’ll join us for the Opening Reception on Saturday\, May 30\, 4:00 – 6:00 PM \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception of our inaugural All Members Show! \nThe Copley Society of Art is proud to present its first All Members Exhibition. Highlighted in the title\, this landmark show is designed to celebrate the incredible talent and diversity within our artist community. This exhibition is a juried for inclusion show; every Co|So Artist who submitted is represented in the exhibit. Filling both the Upper and Lower Galleries on Newbury Street\, this exhibition will offer a dynamic and vibrant overview of the organization’s artistic range\, from classical techniques to contemporary innovations. \nThe exhibition will be viewable in person at 158 Newbury street beginning January 8th\, with an Opening Reception on Saturday\, January 10th from 5PM – 7PM\, providing a festive atmosphere for artists\, collectors\, and art lovers to connect! We hope to see you in the gallery soon. \nBeginning on the evening of the opening reception Co|So will host a canned food drive in partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank. If you are able to attend the opening and bring along a canned item or another non-perishable good\, it would be greatly appreciated. (The food drive will end on January 31st.)
