Grady completes portraits on oil canvas or charcoal on toned paper. The portraits are drawn and painted using photographic reference. The client can come to the artist's studio or the artist can also travel to a client’s home or other desired location. During this first meeting Grady will make some quick sketches and take a series of photos, which lasts 30-45 minutes. The artist will work with the client and discuss the images taken and come to an agreement on the composition and specific photo that will be used as reference. The portrait will take about 6 months to complete, leaving enough time for the paint to dry and apply the final varnish.
