Co|So is excited to invite you to join Grant Wood for a workshop on preventative art conservation and collections care for works of all different forms, shapes, sizes, materials, and media. We will discuss inherent vice in art works that can appear at different points during the processes of creation, display, and storage and the agents of deterioration that affect works depending on their materials and environment. We will walk you through some strategies, methods, and common mistakes to think about when creating, storing, or handling your art in order to ensure its longevity. Come join this interactive session for lessons, advice, guidance, and some fun chemistry facts suitable to artists of all stages wondering about keeping their art in good condition for generations to come.

About Grant Wood: Grant Wood received his BA in History and Latin at Tufts University in 2020 and his Masters from the Tufts History & Museum Studies Program in 2024. From his previous experience working as a project archivist at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC to his current work as a Consulting Collections Manager for a boutique museum consulting firm (Museum and Collector Resource), his expertise has been built on preserving materials that matter, of all different shapes, sizes, and mediums. His consulting work has taken him to museums, libraries, and private collections across the country, implementing collections preservation and space assessments, integrated pest management plans, managing collections moves, and conducting large scale digitization and cataloguing projects. He is currently based out of Somerville, Massachusetts.
