In conjunction with our current Upper Gallery show, “‘A Shared Space:’ One Studio – Two Views,” one of the leading artists, Meghan Weeks, will be hosting a painting demonstration. Weeks, who works en plein air (outdoors) as well as in the studio, takes her painting practice to the natural and built environments of New England, capturing the human imprint upon the landscape.
Weeks studied architecture and museum curating and worked in the cultural heritage sector for over a decade before deciding to pursue art full-time. Her interest in the built environment and curating continues to impact her work as an artist, just as her experience as a painter has informed her approach to interpreting art and architecture.
