Lecture on Bermuda: Tom Butterfield

Thursday, October 19th 6:00 - 7:30pm

Join us to hear Tom Butterfield give a lecture on art and Bermuda on Thursday, October 19th, from 6:00 – 7:30pm!

Tom Butterfield is the Founder and Executive Director of Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art in Hamilton, Bermuda. He graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto in 1976, and subsequently received a Canada Council Grant for photography. After moving back to Bermuda he started the Masterworks Museum, believing that if great artists like Winslow Homer were inspired by the island, others might be as well. Today the collection spans over 1500 paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photographs. The museum, located in the Bermuda Botanical Gardens, attracts thousands of visitors per year. Queen Elizabeth II bestowed an MBE to Tom in 2013 for his efforts in the visual arts.
