Opening Reception: Sandra Samaha’s Meditations in Paper

Thursday, April 23rd 5 - 7 PM

Co|So is proud to present artist member Sandra Samaha’s upcoming exhibition, Meditations in Paper. Through her work Samaha explores how multiple images can represent past, present and future. She asks herself what is, what was, what could be. After studying art at both Skidmore College and the University of New Hampshire, where Samaha concentrated on printmaking, she began selling her serigraphs and etchings through the New Hampshire Art Association and local galleries. Samaha was greatly inspired by her love of quilts and woven textiles, which led her to collage.

Samaha’s collage work empowered her to better understand herself and her faith. For twenty-five years Sandra taught art and art history at the high school level. She would often tell her art history students: “art is a reflection of the time period in which it was produced”. As Samaha wrote in her artist statement, “My collages, like the truth we seek, require careful observation, investigation and contemplation to discern.” Through her work, she brings a passion for creativity and expression of her perspective.

We hope you’ll join us for the opening reception held at the gallery Thursday, April 23 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Stop by to meet the artist!
