PAYAL THIFFAULT

Payal Thiffault is an award-winning visual artist as well as Co-Founder of Atelier ID Global and Juniper Rag. With a Bachelors in Studio Art and Economics from Clark University, Payal has always been drawn to the intersection of creativity and business in design. Originally from India, she spent her formative years in Oman before arriving at Clark.

Early in her career, Payal was a design director who developed product lines for one of the country’s top fine stationery and luxury goods businesses, while growing strategic partnerships with leading retail and fashion brands across the country. With over a decade of design and marketing expertise, she co-founded a creative agency Atelier ID Global with her partner Michelle May. Since then, they have built a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from tech and science to creative and lifestyle sectors. Their commitment to artists and professional skills in marketing with a design legacy in luxury paper, led them to found Juniper Rag in 2020.

My career began as a self-taught fine artist and graphic designer and grew into leadership positions within one of the country’s top fine stationery and luxury goods businesses, where I visualized innovative projects, developed strategic relationships across the country and pushed boundaries. As a co-founder of Atelier ID Global and Juniper Rag, we work with both businesses and independent artists to develop projects and exhibitions that are reflective, meaningful, and artist-centered.

As an experienced juror and curator with over two decades of experience, I approach my work through visual storytelling combined with a keen sense of timing, always championing creative excellence. As an award-winning visual artist, designer, and marketing professional, I have led transformative projects for numerous companies, creating ideas that connect people and generate emotional impact. This same philosophy informs the projects and exhibitions I initiate with our artists, amplified by a deep understanding of how art, media, values, and social behavior intersect.

From Worcester, Massachusetts, via UMASS Amherst, I bring a resourceful, human- centered approach, fostering collaborations that are both innovative and resonant.

Together, Payal Thiffault and I founded Juniper Rag to contribute these skills to help artists forge new untraditional pathways. We operate at the intersection of curatorial vision, creative strategy, and community-driven platforms, cultivating lasting relationships with audiences, collectors, and fellow artists. Through this leadership, we have become a recognized organization for significant contemporary visual art and widely respected for advancing artist-centered, innovative, and collaborative models across the arts landscape, locally and beyond.
