After Labor Day

For a couple of years after the tourists were gone I and a fellow artist, would make our way to Corn Hill in Truro, MA and stay in one of the cottages at the top of a bluff overlooking Cape Cod Bay. It was an opportunity to venture off and wander, gather images and chase the early morning and late afternoon light. “After Labor Day” captures the warmth of an Indian Summer sunset on a shingled cottage above the cool dampness of the footpath below. Years ago, Edward Hopper and his wife Jo spent many summers in a cottage nearby. I imagined myself discovering some of the same places he did.
