The Atlantic White Cedar Swamp is located within the Cape Cod National Seashore. It’s the most ancient and unexpected landscape that one might think of when they imagine a typical landscape on the Cape. It remains an isolated remnant of an ecosystem that emerged after the last ice age. The water is remarkably clear and the bottom of the swamp is packed with layers of leaves. On this particular afternoon, some were tinged with shades of orange from the setting sun as it filtered through the forest.
