I found inspiration for this fall painting at the Conservatory Gardens in Central Park. At the base of Burnett Fountain I noticed a collection of beautiful lily pads and one lone flower in bloom. I stood there for a while observing and noticed the deep blue reflection of the fall sky as well as the silhouette of the tree that had long dropped its leaves in the pond. There were so many worlds within worlds in this composition. While I was preparing the drawing, I noticed a face across the pond from me looking down, also contemplating the beauty of this fall scene. Do you see her?
