I love textile arts and have had this idea for an abstract piece for awhile. This piece is loosely inspired by humoralism, specifically the four humors: sanguine, yellow bile, black bile, and phlegm. The theme of the four humors inspired the colors and the pairings, and then this piece became a bit of an experiment to see what types of stiches I could do and what textures would compliment — or jarringly contrast — with the rest of the piece.
