Hanging

A self-conscious mouth portrait. The mouth looks like it is about to say something, or it is simply hanging still. To me, the moment before speech often feels adrenaline-ridden, cautious, and anxious. It a fleeting decision whether the mouth delivers the words; to say something or nothing at all. Yet, this could just be a still, unflattering (as my mother would put it), hanging mouth that is listening to another finish their thoughts.
