I did a quick little plein air sketch of this scene while at the beach one afternoon and decided to create a painting of it once I returned to my studio. Observing the ocean and then rapidly sketching with ink or painting with watercolors is a great way for me to capture what I’m seeing , reflect on it and then re-create the scene once I’m back my studio.
