My work is often inspired by magic realism to explore themes of childhood, femininity, memory, and isolation. In this photograph of my sister on her 18th birthday, I was particularly drawn to the bright glow and cocoon-like nature of the towel. As she begins this transitional moment in her life, her gaze fills with a sense of contemplation.
