This oil painting on cradled panel has one relief boat in it that I bought from a tiny town, Paraty, Brazil. I knew I would incorporate it into a work of art and after I visited Valparaiso, Chile, I knew I would use them. Of course, it was not painted and I had to figure out how to attach, but that was part of the joy of making the work. So, my interpetative response to my teaching travels!
