Ships Passing

This oil painting on cradled panel has two relief boats in it I bought from a tiny town, Paraty, Brazil. I knew I would incorporate them into a work of art and after I visited Valparaiso, Chile, I knew I would use them. Of course, they were not painted and I had to figure out how to attach, but that was part of the joy of making the work. So, my interpetative response to my teaching travels!
