Caroline Rufo, CA

A life-long New Englander, Caroline is active in visual art and art education. She earned a degrees from Rhode Island School of Design and at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
For several years, Caroline created video installations and other experience-oriented three dimensional works in addition to her painting. In graduate school, Ms. Rufo met artists with whom she founded an artists collective called “The Tea Group”. The Tea Group collaborated and exhibited for more than ten years. They created a Tea Room installation which served as the centerpiece for a series of exhibitions. Eventually, they were featured in a book about women’s groups, and the artists appeared on “The Today Show.”
Her current abstract paintings draw from ideas about artificial intelligence, chance operations, and linguistics. By collaborating with dancers, musicians, and other artists; her painting practice is energized.
Ms. Rufo has been featured in the Fuller Museum of Art and Craft’s Triennial Exhibition. She is represented by The Copley Society, Boston Art Inc., the Powers Gallery and several other galleries in New England. In 2020 her installation "Intervisible" was presented at the Bromfield Gallery and reviewed in Art Scope Magazine.
