Christy Gunnels
Christy Gunnels, originally from Magnolia, Arkansas, has lived and worked on the South Coast of Massachusetts for many years. She began her art studies at an early age under Marjorie Chamberlain in Magnolia, and exhibited locally during her formative years. Today her works are in collections around the United States, England, Canada and France. In the greater New Bedford, MA area she has exhibited at the Marion Art Center, Judith Kline Art Gallery, Gallery 65 on William, Rogers Gallery, The Drawing Room, and The Shattuck Gallery. She received her MFA in painting from The Milton Avery Graduate School at Bard/St Stephens College where she studied with Regina Granne, David Diao and Allen Cote. For many years she was an art instructor and director of fine arts in the Wareham, MA Public Schools.
