Doron Putka, CM

I have been painting in oil from observation, in and around Boston for more than 20
years. My work is figurative: portraits, landscapes and still life. In
drawing and painting, my passion has always been my subjects' faces and gesture-- studied as a window to their character. I treat still life as a kind of portraiture. Outdoors, I aim to express the mood of the scene, the feeling that a first glimpse gives. In my newer collages, I have found a recurrent theme in people eating.
