Elizabeth Cohen
Elizabeth Cohen creates wheel-thrown and altered functional and sculptural work in porcelain, as well as mixed media with natural materials such as wasp nest, mushroom spores and mulberry paper. Organic elements in nature, such as flowers, fruits, seeds, shells, and plants, inform her work. She explores cycles of birth, life and death, growth and decay, rhythm and change. She is also interested in themes of family, security and beauty. She holds a B.A. in English from Tufts University and a M.A. T. from Simmons College.
