Kathryn McMahon

McMahon’s colorful original oil paintings document the era of which we live, painted locally, Nationally, and around the world at any time of the year. I paint in plein air wherever I travel. Awarded Women Artists of the West [WAOW] Master status.
Kathryn is a Signature Member of American Impressionist Society Inc., American Society of Marine Artists, Women Artists of the West, and International Plein Air Painters. Member of American Plains Artists, and Fort Myers Beach Art Association. In 2020 won Presidents Award at a Women Artists of the West Show. In 2022 won 1st place WAOW National Show.
McMahon has been in many National and International Exhibitions and won numerous Awards for her Marine paintings. In 2017 at the 8th National Plein Air Event in Fort Myers Beach Florida, she won Honorable Mention, and also Honorable Mention awards for the Quick Draw and Sundowner event. In 2016 her painting “Through Rough Waters” oil 22x28 was juried into the MMAM Art Museum in Minnesota, the Regional /National Exhibition with the American Society of Marine Artists. In 2015 her marine plein air painting was judged the Best plein air painting of the Women Artists of the West National Show held in Tucson AZ. Also she won a Merit Award in the National Plein Air Competition in Fort Myers Beach Florida for her 20x20 paintings of the San Carlos Marina. Previously won Best of Show in this National Plein Air Show of her Marine painting of Lovers Key Florida. A Marine painting was selected in the 2015 American Impressionist Society Exhibition in Scottsdale AZ. Merit Award for ‘Matanzas Pass’ oil 14x18 in women Artists of the West at Hana Gallery TX. Previously juried into the Copley Society of Marine Artists Show, and 2 paintings exhibited in a Maritime Show in Michigan, and Mystic Seaport Maritime Gallery.
