I’m captivated by the color, contrasts, and compositions found in nature at any given time of day or season. Most often these are settings with an emotional connection: oceans, woods, and lakes where I’ve spent time throughout my life. I’m inspired by settings where the natural world intersects with the manmade. There’s something about this intersection, the humble precision of manmade structures competing with nature’s casual confidence, that I find intriguing. Most recently I’ve been fascinated by meadows and marshes. They project such an airy minimalism, belying a most extraordinarily complex visual and ecological world.
