Seth Chrison
Chrison was born in 1957 in a forest region in eastern Ghana. At the age of ten years, he moved to the northeast of Ghana savannah region. These two types of geographical regions gave him two very different perspectives of life which can be seen in his work.
Chrison graduated from the Kumasi School of Fine Arts in 1982 and thereafter taught at that school for three years, before deciding to pursue his career as a freelance artist.
Initially, he was greatly influenced by the renowned Ghanaian artist Ato Delaquis, who had been his professor and mentor in using the figurative style of painting. Delaquis' brother, a sculptor, also influenced him in cubism and traditional African art styles.
