Sheldon & Weeks – A Shared Space: One Studio, Two Views
Upcoming Exhibition
Upper Gallery July 17 - August 16, 2025The Copley Society of Art is proud to present the upcoming duo show: A Shared Space: One Studio, Two Views. The exhibition features two of Co|So’s accomplished painters and studio mates, Margaret Sheldon and Meghan Weeks.
Both artists are known for their approach to representational painting through unique but complementary lenses. Co|So is excited to bring the distinct experience of visiting their shared studio space to the public through a carefully curated selection of work that emphasizes the overlap between their individual points-of-view.
Sheldon, primarily a studio painter, renders the complexity of botanical subjects and other organic materials in close proximity to explore the worlds within and beyond nature’s objects.
Weeks, who works en plein air (outdoors) as well as in the studio, takes her painting practice to the natural and built environments of New England, capturing the human imprint upon the landscape.
In this exhibition, the artists share a representative body of recent work executed onsite and in the studio, including landscapes, interiors, and self-portraits. Among these are pieces that they have developed while working alongside each other in the studio and around New England, depicting identical subjects in their individual language as painters.
This show will include two gallery activations from each artist as part of Co|So’s artist-on-view demo series. The events will be held at our location at 158 Newbury Street on July 26 and August 2, by Sheldon and Weeks respectively.
