Before the city there was a forest
$440.00
Before the city, there was a forest. Trees, wild grass, uneven ground, animals. Then people cleared a space for themselves. They cut the forest down, poured concrete, raised steel and glass, built a clean geometric world protected from weather, dirt, and unpredictability.
But then, inside this artificial landscape, people began trying to bring the forest back. A tree planted along a sidewalk. A small park between office buildings. Patches of green carefully inserted into the city as reminders of something we destroyed and still seem to miss.
In this image, the forest returns again, faintly visible through the surfaces of the city, as if reminding the glass towers what stood here first.
