We take our daily postal deliveries for granted. At least I do. Even though much of my news comes to me digitally these days, I still look forward to getting the mail.

On those days when nothing in our mailbox is addressed to me, I feel disappointed. Don’t you? Those are the days when whatever little packages I expected to get seem bigger and more important. Getting mail really IS a big deal. It’s where we receive wedding and graduation and birth announcements. It’s where we get letters and cards from loved ones. What will the world be like when we go paperless and don’t get daily post deliveries anymore?
