This composition began as a multi-block woodcut carved in 1976 and left untouched for decades. In 2022, two trial proofs were pulled; while one remains in the artist’s family collection, this second proof became the foundation for a mixed-media exploration in acrylic, ink, and pencil. The work is a personal tribute to the legendary 1960s rock band. It is housed in the artist’s custom-built frame of natural oiled walnut, featuring a whitewash wooden “frame-mat,” archival backing, plexiglass, and a protective coat of satin UV varnish.
