Sanjana’s Last Day
Warm months spent by the coast make space for the self to resurface from challenges of the human condition. Each summer I flee to the waterside as an act of re-birth into new discoveries of myself and companions in our transitional adult years. During the cycle of annual vacations and beach days, we connect with our childhood relationships while unfolding deeper understandings of one another. Often festering fear, conversations of social class, Queerness, and citizenship status are consoled by the serenity of our external space. Through the photographic preservation of these moments in tradition, I am an agent of protection as we bloom. |
