Horse lovers know. Arguably, even though dogs are referred to as “man’s best friend” the relationship between rider and horse often transcends understanding. Horses have an uncanny sense of emotion and situational awareness. Their connection to their riders is almost paranormal, in that we don’t comprehend how those bonds exist and grow. Horses connect with humans in ways we can sense, but we cannot reciprocate. They make us somehow feel loved, and less adequate somehow. It’s one of the great mysteries, and one of the reasons these magnificent animals continue to inspire.
