A figurative mixed-media work exploring physical and spiritual liberation, leaving the final narrative open to the viewer’s own interpretation. The underlying woodblock was hand-carved in 1995, with a limited number of trial proofs pulled at First Proof Press in Brattleboro, Vermont, in 2022. This particular proof was intensively hand-worked in the studio with oil paint, acrylic, ink, and pencil, standing as a unique hybrid piece. Due to transportation safety concerns from Western Massachusetts to Co|So, this work is offered unframed, suspended utilizing the gallery’s magnet and wall-tack system.
