The Copley Society of Art is proud to present Feathers & Petals by Copley Master, Debby Krim. Debby has nearly a half century of experience as a photographer and oil painter, becoming the first Co|So member to be awarded the distinction of Copley Master in the field of photography. Drawn to the rich variety of patterns, textures and even color variations of white flowers, she has captured their beauty and fundamental geometry for more than 20 years. Four years ago, Debby found herself drawn to these stunning feathered creatures. The connection was clear: like flowers, the birds feathers exemplify the stunning natural patterns, sometimes random, sometimes exact.

Besides the visual connection, there is also the mutually beneficial relationship between the two for survival. The birds need the flowers for nectar and fruit, and the flowers need the birds to help in both pollination and spreading the seeds. With Feathers & Petals, Debby places these two natural treasures in conversation with one another to emphasize this relationship.

“I am wowed by the sheer magnificence of nature, an emotion I feel on a regular basis thanks to the camera lens giving me a front row seat!” ~Debby Krim
